About the Division of Blood & Marrow Transplantation

Mission

To improve the quality of life and extend the survival of patients with cancer or other non-malignant conditions through stem cell transplantation technology and other cellular therapies to provide excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Role

We provide outpatient consultation for patients with hematologic malignancy at the Moores Cancer Center. The Division staffs a large in-patient service in the Jacobs Medical Center for patients undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, cellular therapy, chemotherapy, and complications of disease or treatments.  The program is certified by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy.  The Stem Cell Processing Laboratory, providing cell therapy products for infusion into patients, is certified by the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biologics and the California Department of Public Health.
